This position includes overall responsibility for ensuring consistent and optimized delivery of global server support service levels, including administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of DHCP, File and print, Web proxy, Exchange, BackupExec, SCCM server etc. Incorporated into this position is a proactive approach to the development and/or enhancement of procedures and/or methodologies to achieve optimum performance, delivery and continuity of Information Services.
Essential Functions: - Focus on Service Level Assurance. Sustain adequate consistency, predictability and stability of all server level systems and services supported by the Information Technology global organization. - Ensure that level-1 and 2 issues are handled in a manner that is both high quality and aligned with business requirements. Escalate issues to Level 2 support, or external vendors when required. - Coordinate personnel resources to perform Level 1 tasks and incident resolution. - Ensure that all servers are adequately secured against viruses and other malicious damage by deploying anti-virus tools and system updates as required. - Design, manage, and optimize hardware and software deployments to servers. - Act as a contact person for external vendors during installation, rearrangement, repair and/or removal of equipment or services. - Proactively contribute to the development of a firm foundation for server support processes with future scalability in mind. - All interactions, work flow, productivity levels and quality standards are implemented with a "Customer Service" approach to both the internal and external customers. - Perform after hours support duties to sustain systems and service levels. |
